This is a publication of the National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council which is managed by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and defines the requirements information communication in laboratories.

The Requirements for Information Communication addresses the communication of pathology information between pathology requesters, consumers and pathology laboratories.

This document must be read in conjunction with the Tier 2 document - Requirements for Medical Pathology Services.

This document has a date of effect of 1 December 2013.
