"Divisions of General Practice have played a very important role in the general practice community since their establishment in 1991," Senator Patterson said.
"Given wider developments in the primary health care sector, it is important that the effectiveness and efficiency of the Divisions be examined so their future contribution in developing and providing primary health care is maximised."

Senator Patterson said.
"I look forward to receiving the report and recommendations from the Review Panel and to strengthening the role of Divisions in supporting General Practice as the focal point of Primary Health Care in Australia." Senator Patterson said.
