Electronic Communication with the Department
The various ways you can communicate electronically with the Department.
The Department of Health and Ageing has the facilities to communicate electronically with external stakeholders.

The Department will be establishing further mechanisms and procedures over the coming months to transact electronically. Details about these will be published on this site.
Until the new mechanisms and procedures are available, the Department proposes to maintain its current methods of transacting with its stakeholders.
The Electronic Transactions Act 1999The Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (ETA) enables business and the community to use electronic communications in their dealings with government.
The Act has a two-step implementation process. Prior to 1 July 2001 the Act will only apply to laws of the Commonwealth specified in the regulations. The Department has already opted in legislation. After 1 July 2001 the Act will apply to all laws of the Commonwealth unless they have been specifically excluded from the application of the Act.
