The State of Our Public Hospitals, June 2007 report

The State of Our Public Hospitals, June 2007 report provides a picture of our public hospitals during 2005-06.

The report publishes data provided by the states and territories and reports against an agreed set of performance indicators established under the 2003-2008 Australian Health Care Agreements. This year the report includes a focus on older Australians in hospital. It also reports on hospital rehabilitation services.

To improve consistency with other published sources of national hospital statistics, some new calculation methods are used in this report (see Appendix for details). Wherever required, some statistics from earlier years have been recalculated for this report and may not be consistent with statistics provided in previous editions.
