This document is the final regulatory impact statement for the Gene Technology (Recognition of Designated Areas) Principle 2003 which was gazetted on 5 September 2003. It describes the background, the problem, the objectives and the possible options which led to the issuing of the policy principle to recognise genetically modified (GM) / Non-GM designated areas.
