The Integrated Model for Standards Development and Consistent Implementation of Primary Production and Processing Standards

The Integrated Model for Standards Development and Consistent Implementation of Primary Production and Processing Standards (the integrated model) (PDF 2782 KB) has been developed to support Standards Development/Adoption and promote Consistent Implementation to:

  • Assist in facilitating a nationally consistent approach to the implementation and enforcement of Primary Production and Process (PP) Standards;
  • Provide the tools to assist businesses to achieve compliance with the PPP Standard, and;
  • Provide constructive implementation and enforcement advice to FSANZ during the FSANZ Standards development process.

The Integrated Model ensures that when the Australia New Zealand Food Regulation Ministerial Council (ANZFRMC) gives consideration to the approval of a PPP Standard, Ministers can be assured that the Standard can be consistently implemented in all jurisdictions and that guidance is available to industry to assist in achieving compliance with the Standard.

The Integrated Model has been applied to the Eggs and Egg Products Primary Production and Processing Standard and the Poultry Primary Production and Processing Standard.

Application of the Integrated Model to the Primary Production and Processing Standard for Eggs and Egg Products (the Egg Standard)

The Implementation Sub Committee has developed an implementation package to assist with the implementation of the Primary Production and Processing Standard for Eggs and Egg Products.
