Grant Funding Round Open:
As part of the Aged Care Workforce Fund, the Australian Government will provide $2.2 million to expand the Indigenous Remote Service Delivery traineeships beginning in 1 July 2013.An Invitation to Apply (ITA) for funding is now open. Interested applicants will need to address the assessment criteria in the format outlined in the ITA DoHA/218/1213 and in accordance with the Aged Care Workforce Fund Guidelines which are available by registering on the Department’s Tenders and Grants internet site.
The Aged Care Workforce Fund consolidates the activities of four existing programs and provides a large flexible funding pool for initiatives aimed at improving the quality of aged care by developing the skills of the aged care workforce. The Aged Care Workforce Fund will fund a range of training, education and support for the aged care workforce, facilitate collaborations between the aged care, training and research sectors and provide targeted training strategies for Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders to support the delivery of culturally appropriate care.
The Fund has overarching Guidelines detailing how the Fund will operate.
The Department worked closely with the sector through the Aged Care Workforce Committee to develop these guidelines which underpin the operation of the Fund.
