Indigenous Remote Service Delivery (IRSD) Traineeships Grant Funding Round:

The open competitive funding round for IRSD traineeships under the Aged Care Workforce Fund, closed on Friday 19 April 2013.

Outcomes from this funding round will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Funding is anticipated to commence from 1 July 2013.

The Aged Care Workforce Fund consolidates the activities of four existing programs and provides a large flexible funding pool for initiatives aimed at improving the quality of aged care by developing the skills of the aged care workforce. The Aged Care Workforce Fund will fund a range of training, education and support for the aged care workforce, facilitate collaborations between the aged care, training and research sectors and provide targeted training strategies for Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders to support the delivery of culturally appropriate care.

The Fund has overarching Guidelines detailing how the Fund will operate.
