2000-01 Annual Report for the Department of Health and Aged Care

The primary purpose of the Annual Report is to provide Members of Parliament and Senators with a detailed description of the Department's activities during 2000-01 against the performance targets presented in the 2000-01 Portfolio Budget Statements and the 2000-01 Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements, for the Health and Aged Care Portfolio.

The 2000-01 Annual Report is comprised of five parts:

Part 1 Overview

Part 1 provides an explanation of the Department's activities, highlighting the broad strategic directions and priorities for the Department, noting key issues and achievements during the year. This section includes the Secretary's Review, Chief Medical Officer's Report, the Departmental Overview and the Management Structure Chart.

Part 2 Outcome Performance Reports

Part 2 details the performance of the nine outcomes within the Department, including major achievements and challenges. Performance is reported against set indicators outlined in the 2000-01 Portfolio Budget Statements, and the 2000-01 Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements, for the Health and Aged Care Portfolio. Each outcome report includes information on performance measures for administered items, departmental output groups and a financial resources summary table.
