1998-99 Annual Report for the Department of Health and Aged Care

The primary purpose of the Annual Report is to provide Members of Parliament and Senators with a detailed description of the Department's activities during 1998-99 against the performance targets presented in the 1998-99 Portfolio Budget Statements and the 1998-99 Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements, for the Health and Aged Care Portfolio.

The Department's 1998-99 Annual Report is structured in four parts:

Part 1 - Overview

The Overview provides a discursive explanation of the Department's activities, highlighting the broad strategic directions and priorities for the Department and noting key issues and achievements during the year.

Part 2 - Program Performance Reports

This section discusses the performance of individual programs within the Department. Performance is measured against set indicators outlined in the 1998-99 Portfolio Budget Statements, as amended by the Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements, for the Health and Aged Care Portfolio.
