Better health and ageing for all Australians

2007 National Aged Care Workforce Census and Survey – Who Cares for Older Australians? A Picture of the Residential and Community Based Aged Care Workforce – Final Report

The Aged Care Workforce Census and Survey informs workforce planning on issues surrounding recruitment and retention of aged care workers. It contains a comprehensive profile of who currently provides direct care to frail older people, of skills and training gaps, types of employment and career paths and levels of job satisfaction. The 2007 Census and Survey builds on the data derived from the 2003 census and survey of the residential aged care workforce and provides, for the first time, a comprehensive profile of the community aged care workforce. The results of the 2007 Census and Survey are outlined in the 2007 National Aged Care Workforce Census and Survey - Who Cares for Older Australians? A Picture of the Residential and Community based Aged Care Workforce - Final Report.
