eHealth records and older Australians
Retirement can be a busy time of life. You want to stay active and maintain the best possible health. The government’s new personally controlled electronic health (eHealth) record system will help you take control of your important health information.
An eHealth record is a secure online summary of your key health information. You can use it to track things like your current medications, allergies and recent medical treatments. And having this information available to the people involved in your healthcare – your doctors and nurses – will help them make the best possible decisions about your health needs.
Visit www.ehealth.gov.au to register for an eHealth record or to find out more information. You can also get more information through your local Department of Human Services – Medicare centre or by phoning 1800 723 471
