IT Readiness Surveys - Aged Care Sector

2006 IT Readiness Survey

The 2006 survey aimed to determine the current level of IT use among aged care services and community care providers, the needs of the sector, perceived barriers to IT implementations, and its capacity to utilise technology in the delivery of care and to adopt eHealth initiatives.

The information gathered from the 2006 survey is intended to assist the Department in the further development of programs aimed at increasing the capacity of the sector to utilise IT.

2002 IT Readiness Survey

The 2002 survey was undertaken by Albert Research in April 2002. It examined the use of IT in aged care homes and their level of interest in transacting electronically with the Department of Health and Ageing.

Help with accessing large documents

When accessing large documents (over 500 KB in size), it is recommended that the following procedure be used:

  1. Click the link with the RIGHT mouse button
  2. Choose "Save Target As.../Save Link As..." depending on your browser
  3. Select an appropriate folder on a local drive to place the downloaded file

Attempting to open large documents within the browser window (by left-clicking) may inhibit your ability to continue browsing while the document is opening and/or lead to system problems.

Help with accessing PDF documents

To view PDF (Portable Document Format) documents, you will need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer. A number of PDF readers are available through the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) Web Guide website.
