    When consulting with staff during the development of your IT Strategy, you may wish to use the following questions as a discussion guide. Feel free to tailor the list to your own requirements.

      • How would you rate your own IT skills? The IT skill levels of most of your colleagues at work?
      • What sort of IT training is available to staff?
      • How do you use IT within your current role?
      • What do you think about the quality of the IT applications used by your organisation?
      • Does the IT help you to do your job better?
      • How do you currently share information internally? For example paper files, intranet, emails, informal discussions. Are these internal processes adequate?
      • How do you currently share information externally? For example with funding agencies, partner organisations, other organisations in your community. Are these external processes adequate?
      • Are you able to access all the information you need (about clients, for reporting purposes, trend analysis)?
      • IT support mechanisms – what happens if something goes wrong?
      • What improvements would you like to see in the way IT is used by this organisation?
      • What is preventing this organisation from making these improvements?
