Principles

Accreditation Grant Principles 2011

Complaints Principles 2011 – these Principles provide the detail of the complaints investigation process and arrangements for review by the Aged Care Commissioner.

Accountability Amendment Principles 2007 - these include the details of the discretion not to report under the compulsory reporting requirements where the alleged perpetrator has a cognitive or mental impairment or where the same allegation of an assault is made multiple times.

Records Amendment Principles 2007 - these are the record keeping requirements in regard to the compulsory reporting arrangement.

Information Amendment Principles 2007 - these include a minor amendment regarding release of protected information to the Aged Care Commissioner.

Guidelines

Guidelines have been distributed to approved providers and aged care services to assist them to understand the role of the Complaints Investigation Scheme and their obligations.
