The Lessons Learned from Accreditation Working Group of the National Aged Care Forum was established to examine the first round of accreditation of residential aged care homes.
The Group conducted a wide range of consultations with residents, carers, service providers, and accreditation assessors. Submissions were also received from organisations involved in the aged care sector. The report supports the accreditation process and provides useful suggestions for refinement and for improved communication across the industry.
The Working Group's report suggests strategies under three key areas of :
- the accreditation reporting and information;
- the accreditation process; and
- quality management education.
