National Award for Lifestyle Housing for Seniors – Purpose Built Dwelling –10 units and under - Vogue Constructions Pty Ltd (ACT)

This dual occupancy project is a perfect example of adaptable housing that can evolve as the owner ages and accessibility needs increase. The builder has put extensive effort into providing excellent access around the building. Each bathroom has wall mounted vanity basins to allow for wheelchair accessibility.

Emergency call buttons were also installed. The kitchens were constructed with variable height benches, both for the sink and cooktop. This allows the food preparation areas to be adjusted to suit either an able or wheelchair bound person.

National Award for Lifestyle Housing for Seniors – Best Value for Money – Queensland Project Development (QLD)

The design comprises two bedroom units grouped in buildings of four units per block. All pathways follow the contours of the land to provide stepless thresholds. The complex is protected by security fences and gates. With the facilities provided within the complex, it was considered by the judges that this project offered fantastic value for money for the occupants.
