Australian Government Aged Care Subsidies and Supplements

Please find attached the Australian Government Aged Care Subsidies and Supplements Schedule with the indexed rates for the Aged Care Supplements (Accommodation and Hotel Related) effective from 20 March 2013.

Schedule of Resident Fees and Charges

Please also find attached the Schedule of Resident Fees and Charges with indexed rates effective from 20 March 2013.

The quarterly review of income tested fees will be conducted on 16 March 2013, with an effective date of 20 March 2013. Residents and providers will shortly receive letters advising where there is a change to a resident’s income tested fee or where a refund may be due.

Mail addressed to residents should not be returned to the Department of Health and Ageing unless the resident no longer lives at the home.

Providers are advised that any refunds that may appear on your monthly claim statement from the Department of Human Services Medicare Australia should not be paid to residents or their estate until you have received written advice from the Department of Health and Ageing confirming that a refund may be due.
