Dear Community Packaged Care Providers,
CACP, EACH, EACHD and CDC care recipient contribution rates effective 20 March 2012Pension rates are indexed twice yearly on 20 March and 20 September.
The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) recently announced new pension rates that will take effect from 20 March 2012.

The new basic single Age Pension rate should be used when calculating the maximum daily CACP, EACH, EACHD and CDC care recipient contributions for people on the basic rate of the pension.
Accordingly, from 20 March 2012 the maximum contribution for CACP, EACH, EACHD and CDC recipients on the basic rate of pension will increase from $8.61 to $8.69 per day. For those care recipients whose income exceeds the basic rate of pension, the maximum fee is 17.5% of the person’s income to the level of the basic pension, plus up to 50% of income (minus tax and the Medicare levy) above the basic pension.
