NRCP Respite Services Team

Dear NRCP Service Provider

Extension of funding for National Respite for Carers Program Respite Services

I am pleased to advise that the Minister for Mental Health and Ageing,

the Hon Mark Butler MP, has approved a two year funding extension from 1 July 2012 for the 650 respite services under the National Respite for Carers Program (NRCP), including services funded under the Demonstration Day Respite Pilot.

The Department will be contacting you shortly to formalise the funding extension.

If you do not wish to extend your funding arrangements with the Australian Government to provide respite services under the NRCP, please contact the program manager in your State or Territory Office of the Department at the earliest opportunity.

Any queries about the extension process can be directed by email to NRCP.Mailbox@health.gov.au.

I would like to acknowledge the important and valuable work that you undertake in providing respite for carers and look forward to continuing to work with you in 2012 onwards.

Yours sincerely
