Nursing and Allied Health Rural Locum Scheme

The Australian Government has established the Nursing and Allied Health Rural Locum Scheme (NAHRLS) to enable rural nurses and eligible allied health professionals to take leave and access continuing professional development activities. This Scheme provides locums to work in rural areas to backfill the health professional’s position to support health service delivery whilst they are away.

In this section:

The NAHRLS Administrator, Aspen Medical Pty Ltd, has a team of suitable locums ready and waiting to provide these placements. While the employer will be responsible for paying the locum's salary, the Administrator will pay the locum a work incentive and meal allowance as well as arrange and pay for their travel and accommodation.

Further information on NAHRLS, including information on how to apply, can be located on the Scheme's website.
