Invitation to Influence the Direction of Aged Care Reform

You are invited to have your say in the development of a new ‘front end’ for aged care. The new ‘front end’ will assist older Australians, their families, and carers to more easily access information, assessment and links to aged care services.

On 5 April 2011, Minister Butler announced the first step in the phased implementation of the new ‘front end’ for aged care - the introduction of a single phone number to access and navigate the system. This first step will begin on 1 July 2011 and will also include improvements to the information available on the Aged Care Australia website.

This initiative is part of the National Health Reform, agreed by the Council of Australian Governments.

This consultation will provide the opportunity for participants to share their views, assist in system change, highlight the strengths of the current system and raise issues to consider during the development and phased implementation of the new ‘front end’.

Location: Bunbury, WA

Date & time: Tuesday 14 June 2011, 1.00pm - 4.00pm

If you would like to play your part in contributing to the aged care reforms, please RSVP to: Aged Care Consultations with your name, organisation (if applicable), the date and time of the consultation that you would like to attend.
