Acknowledging funding

This page provides Commonwealth HACC service providers with guidance on acknowledging funding.

Service providers are required to formally acknowledge the funding they receive under the Commonwealth HACC Program. This helps ensure that the Australian public is kept informed of how public money is being spent.

When do service providers need to acknowledge funding?

Service providers need to acknowledge the funding they receive from the Government in all:
  • publications
  • published advertising and promotional materials
  • public announcements and public promotional materials they undertake in relation to the Commonwealth HACC Program

Do service providers need to acknowledge funding in company business cards or letterhead?

No. Service providers must only use the HACC logo and the Australian Government branding on published advertising and promotional materials. Company business cards and letterhead are not considered to be ‘promotional materials’ for Commonwealth HACC services.

How does the funding need to be acknowledged?

Service providers can acknowledge the funding they receive from the Australian Government in one of two ways:
  • by using the HACC logo and the Australian Government branding, which can be accessed on the Aged Care Provider Portal, or
  • by using the prescribed wording, which is provided in the Commonwealth HACC Program Manual.

Can service providers use the HACC logo on building signage or vehicles?

No. The HACC logo and the Australian Government branding cannot be used on building signage or vehicles.

Materials featuring the previous HACC logo

We understand that service providers will have existing stocks of promotional materials using different forms of acknowledgement, for example the previous HACC logo.

Service providers will be allowed to continue using this material until 1 July 2013. If updating your promotional materials by this date causes your organisation any undue burden, you can contact us to request special permission to continue to use the previous branding for an agreed period.
