HACC service providers who receive funding under the Commonwealth HACC Program are required to acknowledge the Australian Government’s contribution of funding. One way of acknowledging funding is through use of the new HACC logo. The Aged Care Funding Agreement includes authorisation for service providers to use the new HACC logo.

Service providers are required to use the logo in accordance with the conditions set out in both the Aged Care Funding Agreement and the Commonwealth HACC Program Manual. The Aged Care Funding Agreement sets out general terms and conditions relating to the use of Commonwealth Material, including the HACC logo. The funding agreement refers service providers to the program manual for more specific guidelines on acknowledging funding and using the HACC logo.

Service providers need to ensure that any sub-contractors using the HACC logo also comply with the terms and conditions outlined in the Aged Care Funding Agreement and the Commonwealth HACC Program Manual.

A modified version of the previous HACC logo is to be used for the Commonwealth HACC Program. The previous HACC logo includes the words: “A joint Commonwealth and State/Territory program providing funding and assistance for Australians in need”. These words have been removed from the new logo.

Service providers are authorised to use the new logo from the start date of their Aged Care Funding Agreement.

The Department of Health and Ageing understands that service providers will have existing stocks of promotional materials produced prior to the commencement of their funding agreement with the Australian Government. Therefore, service providers will have until 1 July 2013 to phase out any materials featuring the old HACC logo. If updating promotional material by this date causes any undue burden on service providers, they may contact the Department of Health and Ageing to request permission to continue to use the previous branding for an agreed period.
