Community Care Census
Community Care Census 2007-2008
The Department of Health and Ageing is conducting the Community Care Census during 2007-2008 of four aged and disability care programs - Community Aged Care Packages (CACP), Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH), Extended Aged Care at Home-Dementia (EACHD) and respite care provided through the National Respite for Carers Program (NRCP).
The Community Aged Care Census 2007-2008 will provide a snapshot of community care programs which help frail older people or people with a disability continue living in the community.
This information will assist to better plan to meet the care needs of ageing Australians.
What will we learn?
The Census will identify significant trends in community care since the 2002 Censuses of the CACP and EACH Programs. The 2007-2008 Census also includes the EACHD Program and the NCRP programs and will gather information on the care needs of people receiving services under the four programs, and the care and assistance provided by carers and service providers.Data collected will be used for policy, planning, and program management.
Who will participate?
All service providers delivering services under the CACP, EACH and EACHD programs and NRCP respite services will participate in the Census.Fact Sheet One was sent out to service providers in late June 2007 and includes information about the purpose, scope and conduct of the Census.
