National Respite for Carers Program - 2008 Funding Round
List of organisations that have approval for funding under the National Respite for Carers Program in the 2008 funding round.
On 26 February 2009 the Minister for Ageing, Mrs Justine Elliot announced more than $12 million in funding under the National Respite for Carers Program (NRCP). A total of 35 separate projects will be funded over two and a half years to expand or establish new respite services for carers of the frail aged.
The NRCP funds more than 600 community-based respite services which deliver services in a variety of settings – including carers' homes, day centres and overnight cottages. Total funding allocated to the NRCP in 2008-09 is approximately $194 million.
