Guest Speaker - Wagga Wagga Annual Legacy Dinner – Wagga Wagga, NSW – 4 June 2010
Noeline was invited to speak to the members of Legacy at the Wagga Wagga Annual Legacy Dinner. The event provided an opportunity to speak on the impact of volunteering and remaining socially connected as we age. It was also a great opportunity to celebrate the organisation's history in Wagga Wagga and to consider the number of lives that have been touched through its practical support and assistance.17 June 2010 - RSL Lifecare, Northern Beaches Sydney
Noeline was invited to RSL Lifecare in the Northern Beaches to open its Winter Festival. The festival was designed to encourage people to be active and involved in life, regardless of ability and care needs. It was a great opportunity to promote the key messages regarding ageing well and Noeline shared ways she has seen people remain active despite physical limitations.Top of page
20 June 2010 - Uniting Aged Care, St Ives
Noeline was pleased to participate in World Elder Abuse Day through her attendance at the inaugural elders interview held in St Ives. Noeline spoke about the importance and contribution of Seniors in our society. The event highlighted a vision for creating a safe, caring community where all can age with dignity and respect.Top of page
23 June 2010 – National Seniors Productive Ageing Publication Launch – Canberra
Noeline was invited to launch the National Seniors Productive Ageing Centre publication, ‘Healthy Ageing Quiz: Practical tips for ageing well’ at the Chifley Health and Wellness Centre. 25 June 2010 – The North Ryde Share and Care Senior Group
The North Ryde Share and Care Senior Group warmly welcomed Noeline to one of their regular weekly meetings at the Uniting Church Hall in North Ryde on Friday, 25 June.Noeline delivered some serious messages about healthy, active ageing but there were lots of laughs as she told them stories about her life and her attitude to ageing.
A highlight of the event was when the group took part in a healthy active ageing quiz and Noeline was thrilled with the results - she learned that the North Ryde Share and Care Senior Group has a great attitude to life and they are filling their retirement years with fun activities as well as volunteering.
Noeline congratulated the dynamic group and she encouraged them to continue to keep their bodies and minds healthy while taking up new challenges.
