VIEW Clubs of Western Sydney Gala Event - 26 August 2011
Noeline was thrilled to re-visit her old stomping ground when she attended the VIEW Clubs of Western Sydney Gala Luncheon at the Burwood RSL, which is located in the area where Noeline grew up. She was also excited to catch up with someone she played tennis with when she was around 11 years old.During her presentation, Noeline said when it comes to older people simple things can make a big difference to help them remain independent and to feel included in our communities.
"While many older people live independent lives in their own communities, some of us need support to stay at home. As Ambassador I have been asked how can people get the help they need to stay in their own homes," Noeline said.
"This is a question often asked by older people and their families trying to find information on aged care supports. Some older people don't know "who to talk to" and find it difficult to know what aged care support services might be available in their local region.
"The simplest thing older people can do is to call 1800 200 422. This is the new single, national number that has been introduced by the Australian Government to make it easier for older Australians, their families, and carers to get the information they need about aged care.
