Noeline was the keynote speaker at the Better Balance Morning Tea to celebrate the 2nd birthday of The Better Balance Centre - a wellness initiative aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of residents and to ultimately aid in falls prevention. A highlight of the morning was a Balance Performance from Acrobatica!

Noeline shared personal anecdotes on the ways that she keeps herself active amidst her busy schedule, noting that people who are healthy and physically active throughout their lives, especially as they age, are less likely to need health and aged care services in later life.

Guest Speaker - Probus Club of Waverton - North Sydney Leagues Club - 19 April 2010

Noeline spoke to around 75 members of the Waverton Probus Club. Noeline highlighted the important role of clubs such as Probus, in supporting members to be active – both physically and mentally, and to connect with others. Noeline drew on research that demonstrates that older people who maintain a high level of independence and social connectedness are more likely to view ageing as a positive experience.

This year VIEW Clubs (Voice, Interests and Education of Women) celebrate 50 years in Australia. There are a series of gala celebrations around Australia to mark this milestone. Noeline attended the celebration in Hornsby, Sydney which provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the role of VIEW and look forward to all that it will achieve in its future.

Guest Speaker - Country Women's Association, Nashdale - Luncheon to celebrate Associated Country Women of the World Day - 29 April 2010

Noeline enjoyed her time in Orange, speaking at her first Country Women’s Association Event at the Nashdale Branch. Over 130 women of all ages attended the luncheon that coincided with Associated Country Women of the World Day. The event provided an opportunity for Noeline to highlight the role of not only the Country Women’s Association, but the various ways that women support one another and help others, highlighting the importance of learning new skills, keeping active and staying connected.

Noeline also had the opportunity to speak on the ABC’s Central West Morning Program about her role as Australia’s first Ambassador for Ageing.
