Guest Speaker – Woollahra Library and Information Service – Sydney, NSW – 14 February 2011

On 14 February Woollahra Library and Information Service, Sydney, launched a great new program for people aged 55+. The event was held at the very picturesque Woollahra Council Chambers, and being Valentine's Day the function was aptly named 'Library Lovers Day'.

This great new initiative aims to provide local seniors with more services and increased access to Library facilities, while reducing social isolation for the frail aged.

The event was also about trying to recruit volunteers - the Library is always looking for enthusiastic people to join their volunteering team so during Noeline's speech she spoke about the benefits of helping others, explaining how volunteering is not only good for the community but it is also very rewarding for the individual as well.
