Better health and ageing for all Australians

Working in aged care

Forgotten Australians

The Forgotten Australians include care-leavers, former child migrants and people from the Stolen Generations.

Care-leaver means a person who was in institutional care or other form of out-of-home care, including foster care, as a child or youth (or both) at some time during the 20th century

The Improving Aged Care for Forgotten Australians - Development of a National Educational Package for Service Providers package presents service providers and their workforces with the knowledge and tools to deliver quality services in a way that is appropriate and responsive to the needs of Forgotten Australians.
