Suggested Assessment Tools for ACFI questions 1 to 4

The National Framework for Documenting Care in Residential Aged Care services (NATFRAME) was developed to assist age care providers with a suite of tools which supports evidence - based process and professional care practice.

The assessment tools included in the NATFRAME are considered to be best practice, the majority of which have been validated by research. The assessment tools cover five specific domains: social, cultural and spiritual; physical; functional; communication; and cognitive and mental.

The NATFRAME can be accessed at Natframe webpage or by visiting the Department of Health and Ageing webiste website and searching for NATFRAME.

Help with accessing large documents

When accessing large documents (over 500 KB in size), it is recommended that the following procedure be used:

  3. Select an appropriate folder on a local drive to place the downloaded file

Attempting to open large documents within the browser window (by left-clicking) may inhibit your ability to continue browsing while the document is opening and/or lead to system problems.

Help with accessing PDF documents

To view PDF (Portable Document Format) documents, you will need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer. A number of PDF readers are available through the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) Web Guide website.
