Support Activities

This page provides accreditation resources available to Indigenous health organisations.

What are Support Activities?

To assist eligible organisations pursue and maintain accreditation/certification a range of resources were developed under the previous EQHS measure. Jurisdictional workshops funded by OATSIH and organised by NACCHO and Affiliates to support the launch of these resources were also held as part of the Support Activities.

What resources are currently available?

The following are links to RACGP and QIC Standards Interpretive Guides and the OATSIH Accreditation Manual.

RACGP Interpretive Guide

The Interpretive Guide to the RACGP Standards (3rd edition) for general practices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services is currently being updated and revised version will be available in the near future (‘Interpretive Guide’). In the meanwhile should you require a copy of the third edition please contact via email the EQHS Accreditation Administrator (EAA) or telephone 1300 738 017.

QIC Interpretive Guide

Copies of the Interpretive Guide for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services - Quality Improvement Council (QIC) Health and Community Services Standards 6th Edition. can also be obtained from the EQHS Accreditation Administrator (EAA) or telephone 1300 738 017.

OATSIH Accreditation Manual

Newsletter

A quarterly newsletter is distributed to eligible organisations and other stakeholders. The newsletters promote the support options available under the measure and also contain articles about organistions accreditation/certification experiences and successes.

What other resources are available or in development as part of the Support Activities?

The OATSIH Accreditation Information Line is a resource available to eligible organisations and other EQHS-C stakeholders. The information line can be contacted during business hours on 1800 723 676. Information can also be requested via the EQHS-C Enquiries mailbox.

The RACGP is working with NACCHO, Affiliates and representatives of Indigenous primary health care services to revise the current RACGP Standards for General Practice Interpretive Guide in accordance with the RACGP Standards for general practice 4th edition. The revised guide is scheduled to be available in 2012.

The OATSIH Accreditation Manual is also being revised to incorporate the changes implemented under EQHS-C.
