APS 2-6 Recruitment Intake
Assessment Centre Overview
The Department of Health and Ageing is undertaking a recruitment intake of staff at APS 2-6 levels commencing on 14 June 2012.
APS 2
This assessment centre targets a range of capabilities relevant to an APS2 generalist role at the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA).All observable capabilities are evaluated throughout the course of the assessment centre in order to assess candidates’ suitability for an APS2 generalist role.
For the APS 2 level Candidates will take part in one 45 minute session which includes a behavioural interview.
Assessors will evaluate capabilities using a fixed rating scale.

APS 3&4
This assessment centre targets a range of capabilities relevant to APS3 or APS4 generalist roles at the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA).All observable capabilities are evaluated in one or more related activities throughout the course of the assessment centre in order to assess candidates’ suitability for APS3 or APS4 generalist roles.
For the APS 3&4 level Candidates will take part in three 45 minute sessions which include a behavioural interview, a written exercise and a group discussion.
Assessors will evaluate capabilities using a fixed rating scale.
Sessions will take place concurrently, and candidates will cycle through sessions during the assessment centre schedule.

This assessment centre targets a range of capabilities relevant to an APS5 or APS6 generalist role at the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA).All observable capabilities are evaluated in one or more related activities throughout the course of the assessment centre in order to assess candidates’ suitability for an APS5 or APS6 generalist role.
For the APS 5&6 level Candidates will take part in three 50 minute sessions which include a behavioural interview, a written exercise and a group discussion.
Assessors will evaluate capabilities using a fixed rating scale.
Sessions will take place concurrently, and candidates will cycle through sessions during the assessment centre schedule.
