Radiation Oncology
2009 Funding Round of the Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme (PdCCRS)
The Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme is a funding program which supports research in identified priority cancer research areas, including Radiation Oncology Research Priorities to help reduce the impact of cancer in the community and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

It is a collaborative initiative of the Radiation Oncology Section of the Department of Health and Ageing, Cancer Australia, Beyond Blue - the national depression initiative, Cancer Council Australia, Canteen, Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia, Cure Cancer Australia Foundation, Leukaemia Foundation, Meat and Livestock Australia, National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia. The NHMRC (http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/grants/apply/projects/index.htm) is also involved in the process, assisting with the registration and assessment of applications.
Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research grants support Australian researchers to work collaboratively to generate evidence, increase knowledge, improve the translation of research into policy and practice in identified priority areas, reduce the impact of cancer on the community and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.
Grant applications must relate to the priority research areas identified by Cancer Australia (http://www.canceraustralia.gov.au/research-and-clinical-trials/priority-driven-research.aspx/#Anchor4) and its funding partners.
The participation of the Radiation Oncology Section, Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, in the 2009 round of the Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme
The Radiation Oncology Section, Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing is pleased to advise that it has partnered in the 2009 round of Cancer Australia’s Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme. Through this grants scheme the Radiation Oncology Section will support cancer research project grants in its identified research priority areas.

Relevant documentation, including application forms and instructions for applicants are available on the websites of Cancer Australia and the National Health and Medical Research . The call for applications will close on 17 March 2009.
