Department of Health and Ageing Annual Report 2006-2007
The primary purpose of the Annual Report is to provide Members of Parliament and Senators with a detailed description of the Department's activities during 2006-07 against the performance targets presented in the 2006-07 Portfolio Budget Statements and the 2006-07 Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements, for the Health and Ageing Portfolio.

PART 01 Overview
Part 01 provides an explanation of the Department's activities, highlighting the broad strategic directions and priorities for the Department, noting key issues and achievements during the year. This section includes the Secretary's Review, the Chief Medical Officer's Report, the Departmental Overview and the Departmental Structure.

PART 02 Performance Reporting
Part 02 details the performance of the Department's fifteen outcomes in 2006-07, including major achievements and challenges. The Department's performance is reported against set targets outlined in the 2006-07 Health and Ageing Portfolio Budget Statements, and the 2006-07 Health and Ageing Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements. Each outcome chapter includes information on performance measures for administered items, departmental output groups and a financial resources summary table.
