Rural GP Locum Program (RGPLP)
The Rural GP Locum Program commenced in December 2009 and aims to support rural and remote communities by sustaining their access to the provision of GP services.
The program provides support to rural general practitioners (GPs) and improves rural workforce retention through the provision of locum services and subsidies to rural GPs to assist in meeting locum costs.
