Australian Cigarette Emissions Data

Emissions data for selected Australian cigarette brand variants were provided to the Department in 2001.

In 2001 the three tobacco manufacturers 'Philip Morris Limited, British American Tobacco Australia and Imperial Tobacco Australia Ltd' agreed to undertake cigarette emissions testing of selected Australian cigarette brand variants on a one-off basis and to supply the results to the Department within the spirit of the existing Voluntary Agreement for the Disclosure of Ingredients of Cigarettes.

The cigarette emissions data were provided to the Department in 2001 and were posted unchanged on the Department's website on 16 January 2002. The data can be accessed at the link below.

The three tobacco manufacturers agreed to undertake cigarette emissions testing of selected Australian cigarette brand variants and to supply the results to the Department within the spirit of the existing Voluntary Agreement for the Disclosure of Ingredients of Cigarettes. In 2001, cigarette emissions information was received from:

  • Philip Morris Limited for selected cigarette brand variants which Philip Morris Limited indicated were manufactured by Philip Morris Limited or a related company and sold by Philip Morris Limited in Australia;
  • Imperial Tobacco Australia Limited for selected cigarette brand variants which Imperial Tobacco Australia Limited indicated were sold by Imperial Tobacco Australia Limited in Australia; and
  • British American Tobacco Australia Limited for selected cigarette brand variants which British American Tobacco Australia Limited indicated were manufactured by British American Tobacco Australia Limited or a related company and sold by British American Tobacco Australia Limited in Australia.
