Improved information management and information communication technology (IM&ICT) is generally regarded as a crucial driver of health system reform. The object of such reform is to improve individual health outcomes while improving the cost efficiency of health service provision.
HealthConnect aims to improve the quality and safety of health care by encouraging the use of information and communication technologies based on standards that will ensure:
- interoperability between different information systems
- clinicians and their patients receive timely and relevant information for decision making
- security and privacy of sensitive personal health information.
