e-Health Building Blocks

To ensure HealthConnect can deliver a safe, useable and efficient health information network that meets the diverse needs of consumers and health care providers, a number of key 'building blocks' are being developed to underpin the network. The building blocks are the 'road rules' of HealthConnect and the infostructure on which HealthConnect will run.
The building blocks include: standards, event summaries, health identifiers and privacy including consent and access control.
These building blocks are not only of fundamental importance to HealthConnect, but to all other e-health initiatives. They are being developed in consultation with key stakeholders to ensure HealthConnect meets the long-term needs of all Australians.
