Consent
In the context of HealthConnect, consent involves health care providers seeking the agreement of consumers to record their information on the HealthConnect network and to access that information from the network in the future.
Consent must be informed and voluntary, with participation in HealthConnect for both consumers and providers to be on an 'opt-in' basis.
Work has been under taken to:
- test various models for consent in the HealthConnect trials; and
- develop the policy framework in which consent will operate in HealthConnect.
