HealthConnect has been designed to promote accessibility and facilitate access to information for all users. The following accessibility features are available:

High contrast style

HealthConnect can be viewed using two color schemes:
The latter option faciliates viewing for partially-sighted users. To load the schemes, select the appropropriate link available at bottom of every page. The schemes are persistent, which means that they will apply each time you visit the Intranet. This works by setting a cookie on your PC. If you clear the cookies from your PC, the default scheme will apply and you will need to reload the high contrast scheme if desired.

Access keys

Access keys allow users to easily navigate through pages using key-based input. If you are using Internet Explorer for Windows, access keys are used by holding down Alt while pressing the access key; on a Mac, hold down Control while pressing an access key. This will move the cursor to that section or link - you will usually have to press enter to select it. On some computers/browsers, you will have your own way of using an access key - check your Help for details.

Keystroke/tabbed navigation

You will find that if you tab through an Intranet page (shift + tab to go backwards), you will easily go through the information on the page. You will start by going to the address bar, then you will be given the choice to go to the page content, or you can tab again to continue through the main navigation, through the body content, and lastly to the links at the bottom of the page (in the footer).
