Radio script: You know how it is

Sound effects: We hear a man walking along as he talks. His footsteps are reasonably brisk.

Man: You know how it is… you settle down… put on a few kilos… but I’m not worried.

Sound effects: His footsteps get heavier and slower.

Man: Then you have kids… life gets busier, you let yourself go a bit… I’m not worried.

Daughter: Hey, Dad! You’re it!

Sound effects: We hear him try to chase the girl, but doesn’t take too many steps before he runs out of breath. We hear him puffing heavily.

Man: But when I first realised it was affecting my health… …well, yeah, I got worried.
Daughter Come on Dad!

Announcer: The more you gain, the more you have to lose. Unhealthy eating & drinking and not enough physical activity can seriously affect your health. For most people, waistlines of over 94cm for men and 80cm for women increase the risk of some cancers, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Authorisation: Authorised by the Australian Government, Canberra. Spoken by M Cullen, M Main and E Edwards.
